Type I is made in 6 and 12 volt as:

                A-type minus at chassis

                B-type minus at chassis

             B-type plus at chassis

Looks are the same, except some wiring colors.

In most cases, these  can be build into the old relay box.

Type II is intended for mostly German systems, where the regulator is mounted inside the dynamo. Is only made as A-type, minus at chassis
